PDA assignment
Sabrina lives in a small town in Illinois . She is 21 years old and has a 2 year old daughter. Her favorite color is blue. She enjoys spending time with her daughter, shopping, talking on her cell phone, and modeling. Sabrina wants to move to a big city so that she would have a better chance at being discovered as a model. Before she got pregnant, she was signed to a small modeling agency but put that on hold once she found out she was expecting. She currently works at a factory. I would describe Sabrina as very outgoing, funny, fun to be around, and a very positive person. Sabrina has a very simple style of fashion. She owns nothing but jeans, shirts, and gym shoes. You will never see her in a skirt or dress. In 5 years, Sabrina plans on moving somewhere like Memphis or Atlanta to pursue modeling again and hopes to get discovered. She says if that doesn't work out, she wants to attend a University and major in psychology.

Persuaders 4 -6
I can relate to what Rapaille is saying because i think people do tend to get things a lot of the time because they want it and not necessarily need it. I know i have bought things just because it may have been new on the market and i just wanted to try it out.
I think Frank Luntz would be able to sway Republicans to vote one way or another more so than anyone else just because Fox is a Republican news station. To tell you the truth, political advertising doesn't really affect who i vote for. In this past election, i didn't pay any attention to those advertisements because i already knew who i was voting for.
Narrowcasting has traditionally been understood as the dissemination of information (usually by radio or television) to a narrow audience, not to the general public. Some forms of narrowcasting involve directional signals or use of encryption. In the context of out-of-home advertising, this term often refers to the display of content on a digital signage network.
It involves aiming media messages at specific segments of the public defined by values, preferences, or demographic attributes.
Narrowcasting is the future because of all the technologies available to help get the word out. At McDonald', they have this electronic device below the menu advertising that you can get an extra hash brown for only .25 cents with any value meal that you order.

Defining Viral, Ambient, and Guerilla Marketing...
Viral marketing is a phenomenon that facilitates and encourages people to pass along a marketing message. Viral marketing depends on a high pass-along rate from person to person. If a large percentage of recipients forward something to a large number of friends, the overall growth snowballs very quickly. If the pass-along numbers get too low, the overall growth quickly fizzles.
An example of viral marketing is....
Guerilla marketing is an unconventional system of promotions that relies on time, energy and imagination rather than a big marketing budget. Typically, guerrilla marketing tactics are unexpected and unconventional; consumers are targeted in unexpected places, which can make the idea that's being marketed memorable, generate buzz, and even spread vitally.
An example of guerilla marketing is...
Ambient media started to appear in British media jargon around 1999, but now seems to be firmly established as a standard term within the advertising industry. It is the name given to a new breed of out-of-home products and services determined by some as Non-Traditional or Alternative Media. Ambient media advertising can be used in conjunction with mainstream traditional media, or used equally effectively as a stand-alone activity. The key to a successful ambient media campaign is to choose the best media format available and combined with effective message.

Clutter of information
How do people deal with clutter of advertising?
We have no choice but to deal with it because we see it everywhere we go. We see it posted on buses, billboards, in magazines, on TV, etc. We deal with it by sometimes ignores it but a lot of the time we at least look at the ads or even read the slogans.
How does marketers deal with the clutter?
They deal with it by creating more clutter because they are always trying to out-do the last and also they are in competition with one another.
What is the role of branding?
It could be a name, term, sign, symbol or design, or a combination of all intended to identify the services and goods of one seller or group and to differentiate them from those of other sellers.
What does it help do?
It helps us to determine what products to buy. What i mean by this is when we see a certain brand we may thank about the quality and the price of it. For example, the brand Scott is a pretty good quality brand so when you see that name in the stores you think good quality but also a little on the pricey side.

My visit to Wet Seal....
I visited Wet Seal today. This store sells everything from purses to lingerie. The store was very colorful and the clothes were folded neatly on the shelves. The Manikins were wearing spring colors such as bright spring like colors. When i walked into the store, the store gave off the impression of spring/summer, and being in a happy atmosphere. The music they were playing was pop and R&B. The consumers were teenagers and college age students. One of the sales representatives asked me if i needed help finding anything, which was nice because at times you don't get that when you walk into a store. It also smelt lovely in there!

Defining advertising
What is advertising?
When it comes to advertising, it's all about catching peoples attention and getting them to buy that product. Advertising is a non personal communication of information usually paid for and usually persuasive in nature about products, services, or ideas by identified sponsors through the various media. Nowadays, companies are using celebrities to sell their products because they know it's a great way to increase profits.
Does it work for me?
Of course it does. I have bought products in the past just because of who was endorsing it.
My favorite commercial out right now is the Rhythm Heaven Nintendo Commercial featuring Beyonce. Check it out below!
The main reason i like this commercial is because Beyonce is featured in it. I'm a HUGE fan of hers! I have actually thought about purchasing that specific Nintendo and game just because she is advertising it.
